Why your website brings no clients: 9 reasons and how to fix them

Nice design, but no enquiries? The problem is usually one of these nine things — and most can be fixed within a week.

A familiar story: the website was built, paid for and launched — and the phone stays silent. Spoiler: in 9 out of 10 cases the problem isn’t the design. Here’s what to check first.

1. Nobody visits the website

A website isn’t a sign on a busy street — it’s a shop in the middle of a field. Without ads, SEO or links from social media, there will be no visitors. Open Google Analytics and look at the real number of people per month.

2. It’s unclear what you offer

A visitor decides whether to stay within 3–5 seconds. If the first screen says “Welcome” instead of “iPhone repair in Kyiv in 1 hour”, they’ll leave. The first screen must answer three questions: what this is, who it’s for and what to do next.

3. The website loads slowly

Every extra second of loading lowers conversion. Heavy photos, dozens of plugins and cheap hosting are the usual suspects. Test your site in PageSpeed Insights: a mobile score below 50 is a call to action.

4. It’s awkward on a phone

Most visitors come from smartphones. Tiny text, buttons that don’t respond, a form that doesn’t fit the screen — and the tab gets closed.

5. It’s hard to get in touch

  • the phone number isn’t clickable;
  • the form asks for 10 fields instead of two;
  • there are no messengers;
  • enquiries land in an inbox nobody checks.

The minimum: a call button, Telegram and a short form with instant notification to a manager.

6. There’s no trust

People are afraid of making the wrong choice. Real photos of your work, reviews with names, prices or at least “from”, guarantees, an address — all of these remove doubts.

7. No prices listed

“Call for a price” cuts off a large share of visitors. Even an approximate range increases the number of enquiries.

8. Ads lead to the wrong place

An ad for “Daikin air conditioners” that leads to a home page with every product makes people get lost. Every ad campaign should lead to a page with exactly what the ad promised.

9. Enquiries aren’t tracked

Without analytics you don’t know which source brings clients and which just burns budget. Set up goals for forms, calls and messenger clicks.
